Our english speaking guide will meet you at the port of Kotor.
We will leave the dock (boat trip) towards Perast, a quiet baroque town near Kotor. On arrival, we will be able to contemplate the most beautiful and emblematic buildings of the 17th and 17th centuries.
Work at sea was a widespread activity during this period, and wealthy and successful captains erected magnificent cities that today captivate by their construction.
We will see many sacred monuments, including the parish church dating from 1740 or the 12th century church Sv. Djordje, located on an island in front of Perast. We can also see the Sveti Nikola church built between the 15th and 17th centuries.
We will then take a boat tour to visit Gospa od Skrpjela, the island of Our Lady of the Rock located in the bay of Kotor, where is the magnificent Baroque church, rebuilt in 1622. The islet is artificial and the church dates from 1452. The church contains more than 68 paintings of a famous 17th century artist; the largest, 10 meters long, represents the death of the virgin; One can also admire Italian paintings, masterpieces of the 15th century.
Then we will return to our boat, to reach the city of Kotor where we will take a walk to the old town.
The guide will show us the surrounding walls that the Venetians built between the first half of the 15th century and the middle of the 18th century. These walls completely surround the old city and form a fortress capable of withstanding long attacks and sieges.
We end this cultural and beautiful visit by visiting the cathedral of St. Triphon (internal visit) of Romanesque style, built in 1166 and whose main nave is separated from the aisles, alternating square pillars and old-style columns.
End of the visit and return to the port.
